Working For A Common “One Team” Approach
For a mega-project in the petrochemical industry, I worked with a large team made up of members from multiple companies and multiple countries to create a common “one team” approach to working together. I designed and facilitated a two-week-long kick-off series during which the team clarified roles, defined work plans and aligned on timelines and expectations at the level of the full team, and within the sub-teams that would be carrying out different aspects of the work. Throughout this kick-off and over the following several months, I coached team leaders from the multiple companies on ways to incorporate the “one team” approach in all aspects of their work, to keep the team members aligned and working together productively.
