Welcome back to work after Thanksgiving. I hope it was a time for you to relax and refresh and focus on the things you’re grateful for. It was for me. In light of the holiday, here are some of the things I’m feeling grateful for:
All of the heart-centered leaders who know that the path to success comes from engagement and collaboration. Who know that leadership isn’t about being the center of attention or about having it all for yourself. Who truly believe that leadership is about making opportunities available for others and supporting mutual learning and growth. I’m grateful for the people who are already doing this in the world, and for those who see that it’s possible and are committed to becoming better at it every day.
My amazing clients, who have made an investment in themselves to be heart-centered, engaging leaders. They decided that they deserved to have work lives that were rewarding and fun, and that they wanted to make that a reality for the people on their teams as well. And then they have shown up and done the work and stepped into roles to make that happen – even when they were scared or when self-doubt threatened to hold them back. I’m grateful to you all for rolling up your sleeves and being brave and applying what you’re learning out in the world to make work better for everyone.
My coaches, the people that I work with and invest in, who are helping me build my own capacity. Although I have over 20 years of experience coaching leaders and teams, there is always more to learn, more ways to grow. So I am grateful to the coaches who have helped me with that over the years – pushing and nudging me to create an extraordinary lifetime of growth, learning, and expansion. They’ve shown me what’s possible and helped me build the muscle and the performance psychology and mindset to make my dreams a reality. Most importantly, they’ve helped me expand my capacity to serve my clients and to help them aim higher and achieve even greater success and satisfaction.
And finally, I am grateful for my team. Thank you for caring so deeply about our clients and about this work. Thank you for helping me put out these posts and these emails so that we can reach even more people who are struggling. Thank you for what you do every day to help us reach people who aren’t feeling seen and aren’t getting ahead. There are too many people in this world who are working really hard and not getting the promotions and opportunities they deserve. Too many people who want to be heart-centered leaders, but aren’t getting the chance to do it. Thank you for showing up in your full hearts to help me reach them. And then, for helping me serve them with so much love and support every day.
What are you feeling grateful for today?
